Nikisha King:

You're listening to Nikisha King Podcast leading her way, episode 20. Do you have a dream or a mission or a fire that has ignited inside of you to create an amazing business that can grow and scale, but, at the same time, you don't want to sacrifice your life, your family relationships, or values in building this dream? If this is you, welcome to the Nikisha King Podcast leading her way. Hello, gorgeous, and welcome to Leading Her Way. I'm your host, Nikisha, and I'm happy to have you here with me today.

Nikisha King:

In concluding the red carpet experience and when I say concluding, just concluding the part of telling you what it is and sharing tips and little actionable steps on how to implement it I want to tell you something that's so important. The red carpet experience is a method that I created and it works really well because I'm really comfortable with the people I serve and, when it comes to sales, the most important thing is understanding who your market is. Market doesn't have to be 10 million people. It can just be one person, because that one person you speak to. There are a lot of human beings who have that sensitivity, lifestyle, so many personality traits that are similar, so let me clarify this In speaking to an awesome, awesome person. They have a sales process that's different from minds. That helps them convert 100%. However, their process is a little bit more drawn out. It's a series of 10 emails. It has this creative side to it. Because they're creative, they're in the creative industry, the event industry as well, and when they do this method, it's because they love telling people who they are before they're getting on a console. In other words, they like taking their time and I found that so fascinating because for me, it's different. I want to discover, call right away. I don't want to do 10 emails, I don't want to write a paragraph or two, and this person doesn't do that. But I'm just saying, for me, the reason why both of our methods work is because we serve different people.

Nikisha King:

Let me explain the people I serve. Who really enjoys the red carpet experience? They're busy professionals. What that means is that for them to read a 10 series email would be too grueling. They want to get in it right away. They're action checklist people. My people love checklist, they love action steps. They go Nikisha, tell me what to do and I'll take care of it. Give me my due date and I'm happy. The reason that these are my people is because I am part of that world. I enjoy people who don't make me think a lot, where they take care of me, and I love that service. So with the red carpet experience, it serves people who are very much moving, people who would like to know what's next. How does this work? Be very clear with me and concise. I don't need a novel. Those are my people. However, this person I spoke to her people want to know like the backstory. They want to be taken on a journey and then when they get on the phone with her, they're pretty much ready to go forward with her and that's why her sales is 100%, because she's taken them through a slow process and I think that's so good.

Nikisha King:

My clients I usually close at 90%. That 10% that I leave is because sometimes they're not a fit right, sometimes they're not a fit, and that's okay for me, and not a fit meaning it could be an investment challenge, because usually that's what it is. They're not seeing the value of investing 12K or more into stationary. But understand one thing the reason I do 90% is because the people who come to me from my planners, they are ready or at that caliber their budget allocates for it. My planners help in that way. If there are people just coming in and they're searching and they find my profile on a wedding wire or not, they may come in with a whole different budget and usually they don't make it past the inquiry form because it says my minimum and it gives them that clarity. But that's who my people are, the people I work with. They're busy professionals, they're usually traveling, they're usually working, life is happening. But they truly want someone just to take care of everything and they want it kind of not fast paced, because we don't have a fast paced process, but they just want to know where am I, and I don't have to think about it If I take the thinking about it from them by giving them emails, like a weekly email that says, hey, this is where we are, this is how the process is going, and it's short and sweet, that's all they need.

Nikisha King:

But this person helped me realize the word only doesn't exist. There is no only one way to do anything in life. There's not one way to tie your shoelaces. There's not one way to cook your eggs. There's not one way to make lemonade. There are so many different ways and each way has its specialty and each way serves its person. I know people who make lemonade with bitters. Some people make it with certain other ingredients and when you taste it it's like, oh my God, this is amazing, because they have something special about them. That's what I love about humans. We all have our special gifts and it shows up in the way we do business, the way we do parenting, the way we do what we're here to do.

Nikisha King:

So I wanted to tell you this because I want you to know the red carpet experience. It really works with people who loves task, who loves to know what's next, who are busy and may not be able to sit and read emails thoroughly. Therefore, if this is you and you know your clients and your clients love being guided you know all those clients you book and they usually just so easy and so good and you're like this is the best experience. If they resonate with just being taken care of, having things, just tell them what they need to do and it's that the red carpet experience is for you. That's the model we create, that's the process we create and that's what we implement in our brand. Now, I'm not saying if you're someone who love a 10 series email, I'm not saying the red carpet experience isn't for you. What I'm telling you is that if you love that, you can use that method with the red carpet experience, and that's something I do in our program.

Nikisha King:

If you love doing a 10 or five email, it doesn't have to be 10, it could be any quantity of an email series. How can you improve it? How can you make it where your market, your ideal person, loves everything about it? If you know that works with them, let's work together and I can work with you on when you do it. If you need improvement on your copy, if you have it, what's something else we can add that makes it even better? How can we add little tips here and there to make it even more enticing? Right, that's it. But I'm not here to change you. I'm not here to tell you what you're doing is wrong and I'm not here to tell you there's only one way. I truly believe in the programs I have, but that doesn't mean everyone else who's doing what they're doing and showing the people who they're showing is wrong. I don't believe in wrong and right. I believe you do it the way you do it and that is it. If it works, it's amazing. If you're like I love to improve a little bit here and there. Amazing, if you're like I want to try something new.

Nikisha King:

Amazing Business is about experimenting as a science project, having a health background and being in the science world I've been in chemistry, biology, molecular biology. We've always had ideas or hypothesis and then we would definitely test it. Business is that the red carpet experience was something I tested based on the knowledge I'd gain in my sales group. And I would do it and I would go oh my God, this is working. And then I would tweak it a little bit and it'll get even better. It would just get better.

Nikisha King:

And the more I speak to people, the more I learn. I can go oh, I like that, let me see how that looks here. Why go? You know what? That doesn't work for me. That is all it is. It's a process that you try. Now here's the thing when you try it, you try it from a place of. What are you seeing the outcome? What do you think is going to happen? When you think what's going to happen, then you can test that theory. If I do this, this and this, this is going to happen. And you'd be like okay, it didn't happen the way I thought it was. Maybe it was variable one. Let's change that and keep two and three. That's it.

Nikisha King:

You hear this a lot in marketing and everything, but it's just business overall, in your marketing, in your sales, in your delivery, everything is about testing. If you find that you're not a science person, you're a creative person. You're not sure if you can think that way, you can, you just have to practice. That is what my world is about. We work with our clients to help them with their mindset work. We help them with their, the way they see their possibilities. People sometimes are not able to see possibilities, and it's because of our experiences. However, if we bring awareness to those experiences and mindsets, and limiting beliefs and upper limits listen, awareness is everything, because once you see it, you can't unsee it. You know what I mean. So here's your opportunity to see it, work on it and get better. Business is a journey. It's a journey that I love.

Nikisha King:

So I just wanted to be very clear with this, with a red carpet experience. It's about who you serve and what type of person they are, and if you're not clear on that, let's chat. Let's chat so I can help you see, what have you done? Like, let me all right, let's do it right here, right now. Let's talk about how do I know who my ideal person is.

Nikisha King:

So, have you ever had someone that you truly loved working with? And, if you did, I wanna know what was their personality. Do you find that, when you were working with them, they were quick to give you what you needed, when you were clear about when and what you need when you were working with them? Were they someone who wanted all these little details about the visual, the vision? Were they a dreamer? Were they someone who was very, just, totally like listen, just tell me what you need, tell me how much, and let me be in my way and you take care of everything. Right, figure out the person that you enjoyed working with and what are some of their characteristics that they had. Why did you like working with them? Right, I have let me see some clients that I loved working with, and what that means is they went. Nikisha, tell me what's the process. Or they went.

Nikisha King:

Listen, we have a wedding coming up. It's kind of a rush for save the dates. Right, we need invites. I go to everything, I go perfect, and I gave them a proposal. I went through everything. It was like great, can we start? And they booked it right away.

Nikisha King:

So I like people who are very clear on what they need and they book right away. I don't like the in between. That's one of the characteristics. My people make choices really quick. They don't ruminate on it, they don't think of all the negative things that go wrong. They trust me and they make a decision right there because they know this is what they want. That is my person. My person is also they want to be taken care of. So my person is like doing a lot in life, and when they're doing a lot, they don't really have time to do a lot for them. So sitting with me and doing extra stuff that they don't need to or stuff that they don't need to know, that's not their character. Their character is okay.

Nikisha King:

We hired you as our professional to take care of this for us. This is a service you sold us. We trust you. That is it. So ask yourself do your people completely trust you where they want to advocate everything to you, or do they want to be fully in it and want to know why you're picking that material? What was the story behind that flower? Or are they someone that's on the back of your heel.

Nikisha King:

But I don't think anyone wants one of those clients who is like I don't trust you and you do look really skeptical so I'm going to critique everything. No one really wants that. So you kind of decide who is making you joyful in your work, who's giving you that joy, or not even giving you joy, because I don't believe anyone can give you joy. I believe joy is from within, but who is someone you work with that? When you work with them, you're like man. This feels so good, it just feels comfortable. You feel like you're in your own skin and you can do what you were born to do. You can assist the way you were made to assist. So I want you to kind of think of those questions. One what are some of the actions or things that you're seeing from the client you had a great time with? Take five minutes, write down what are some of the characteristics my clients, my favorite clients, had Set your timer to five minutes on your iPhone, iwatch, imgoogle, whatever timer, and let that timer start and just keep writing One, you don't have to name it one, just every thought on a different line.

Nikisha King:

This person was very a decision maker, a quick decision maker. They trusted me. They were willing to pay my investment without any complaints. They were very personable. They were nice. Their family was really nice. They weren't very contentious in their family or their relationship. They're busy, right? These are my people. So these are the things that would be on my list. What would be on your list? So I would just say create that list for you, because it will help you get clear and when you're clear, you can serve so much better.

Nikisha King:

In my design house, I'm very clear who that person is. I explain that to you. Decisions are not easy. Therefore, I don't need a five to seven proposal like expiration date. I don't need to leave it open-ended. Three days is good for my person because they make it within 24 hours, right, like they're so good on that.

Nikisha King:

The other thing, too, is when we do the red carpet experience, it's really about doing things that serves our ideal client, and with this program for me, that's just who we serve and we just truly enjoy it. But listen, there is not only one way. There are so many ways to do things and the way that works for you is the best way. There is no right, there is no wrong way. There's no right way. Sometimes people speak with so much passion that you think they're saying the opposite is wrong, but they're just passionate about what they're sharing because the people who align with them will definitely get that benefit. The people who align with me will definitely get the benefit of the red carpet experience.

Nikisha King:

However, speaking to the person I spoke to and getting her way and knowing she's a part of the sales education, I was so excited because I just thought, oh my God, this is so good. It's nice to hear someone else's perspective, know they're doing really well with it and having success Like that's. For me, that's amazing. I love when people are doing amazing things and having amazing success and I love the way she does it. She does it the long way and the long way. What it does for her, it qualifies. So her 10 series of emails qualify people. What it does, it says what we work for, how we work, how we take care of you, and when she does that, she's doing it in small snippets, so it's not a five paragraph email or 10 times. That's just crazy. She does these small little two or three sentences or maybe five sentences and that's all she's doing so people can get to know her. I think that's amazing, so I wanted to share that with you.

Nikisha King:

I hope this helps you understand the red carpet experience and who it serves Once again. Someone who's a good decision maker, someone who's very much busy, someone who loves to be guided, someone who wants a Ritz Carlton experience. You know someone who just wanna walk in and be like I don't need to think because they got me Anything I need, they have it available to me. That's what the red carpet experience is. It's a Ritz Carlton experience. It's a client journey that's high-touched, but it's not. It's a narrow time. It's someone who's busy, who just wants to enjoy the experience right, and this other person gives the same experience too. Right, the person with a 10 series email. It's a Ritz Carlton, but it's from a place of tampering, maybe, and letting you know who we are before you even come through our door with a phone call or anything of that nature. And I just wanted to share this with you guys. I hope this really resonates.

Nikisha King:

No matter which way you choose to do business, it's not right or it's not wrong. It's the way you choose to do it and if it serves the people you wanna serve, so make sure you have that. And that ideal client part is a little bit challenging because there's so many ways you can figure it out. But if you are working with clients, I promise you there's some favorite ones. And if they're not completely favorite or your favorite, take what parts made them good and make a list of that. Build your favorite person. It doesn't have to be who you worked with. It could be who's coming down the pipeline, because I didn't always work with my ideal clients. I worked with clients and I would have little good things here and not so good things, but the better I became and understanding what I or who I am serving, the better I got with just speaking to my clients and loving on them. So I hope the same for you as well.

Nikisha King:

Thank you so much for being part of the Red Carpet Experience Series. It's one of my favorites. It's one of the things I am focusing on for the upcoming year. It's just a thing that I'm just going to break down, clarify, work it out, tell everyone about it. I have a program that I do offer and before that program we do a Red Carpet Experience Challenge and that is actually coming up. I actually will be opening that up to everyone on August 28th, so I will have a link to that, where you can take the Red Carpet Experience Challenge and there's going to be a workshop. So if you do the challenge, you have access to a workshop with me on September 11th it's starting.

Nikisha King:

It's a five day workshop. I meet everyone at 12 pm and we work on implementing it in their system. I get to show up, I get to answer questions, I get to work with them. This is one of the best gifts that I have as a business owner having experience and wisdom and helping other entrepreneurs and business owners build their business. I want you to be able to grow. I want you to be able to transform. I want you to be able to thrive in your market, in your area. Thank you so much and, by the way, have an amazing day. I look forward to seeing you in our next Tuesday episode and thanks again, have a great Tuesday and have an amazing day.
